My VT1100 finally on The Dark Side
I finally got my new tire mounted. It's been riding around in the back of my truck with me for about 2 weeks now waiting for my new jack so i could get the old tire and wheel off the bike.
Being as I'm in a small, isolated border town my choices were pretty limited, so I went with a Goodyear Viva from my local Wally World. Knowing that there was no way in Hades they would mount it, I took it to a local tire shop. The Mexicans seemed pretty convinced that I was a Crazy Old Gringo when I told them what I wanted to do. They never heard of such foolishness before, but they did understand the concept of Redneck DynaBeads (3 oz of BB's) for balance. Go figure.
Anyway, I got it back together just before dark this evening (seemed fitting) and took it for a short ride to scuff off the mold release. Daddy Like! i can't wait to get home tomorrow afternoon and really put it through it's paces. I have a dinner ride with my club (Southern Cruisers) tomorrow evening, so I'm sure I'm going to have a lot of questions to answer. As far as I know, I'm the only person in the greater Del Rio,Texas area running on the Dark Side.
Pics tomorrow evening, I promise.

Very nice! I haven't heard of using BBs. is this a new trick? I know Twin used the air-soft pellets before. Do the BB's rattle at all?
