Dark Fury finally!!!!!
Well, it took me about a year and 12,000 miles to wear out the factory MT on my 2010 Fury. Today I had the CT mounted and it put it on tonight. Rides just as good as the MT and looks way better. It is good to be back on the darkside. I also painted and polished my rims while I had the tires off. Here are some pictures.
Here is the before shot.
And the wore out MT. I corner alot.
I polished the lips of the rims and painted the spoke and hubs metallic dark grey.
Here is the CT right after I got it mounted on my bike this evening.
Made a couple of laps around the neighborhood. Even had my wife ride. No more paint stripes on the treads. LOL
I am running a General G-Max 215/45 ZR 18.

Re: Dark Fury finally!!!!!
I have about a 25 mile commute in the mornings and it was a blast. I swear my CT handles better than the MT all the way around. I am loving it.

Re: Dark Fury finally!!!!!
Yep, it is stock. The Fury has a 21" front wheel and an 18" rear wheel. I tell you, I ate up the clover leaf between I-12 and Airline Hwy this morning on the way to work. It is just like when I put the CT on my 1800 R, it eats up the corners even better.

Re: Dark Fury finally!!!!!
Thanks guys. I look forward to meeting you Eskimo.
I found that I had a little wobble around 65-70 mph today on the interstate. I was running 41 psi in the rear tire. I dropped down to 35 psi. Will see how it does tomorrow morning. The wife and I road this evening and it was awesome. Of course, I'm preaching to the choir. LOL

Re: Dark Fury finally!!!!!
Well, I didn't get any wobble until about 85 mph this morning. I might drop it down to 32 psi and see how it does. Of course, I am a slow poke so I rarely do over 70 anyway. I did notice that with the lower air pressure the back tire didn't try and follow the tire grooves in the asphalt road by my house. That was a plus.

Re: Dark Fury finally!!!!!
Thanks. This is the first time I have ran a General G-max. I road a couple of hundred miles this weekend and loved every minute of it. I swear I am taking the curves harder and faster with the CT on back. Yep, I am loving it.

Yep, that wasn't the first time nor will it be the last time. Plus, I believe my riding instructor told me to turn until something drags and then pick it up a bit.

Re: Dark Fury finally!!!!!
Has the wobble gone away? Did you use weights or dynabeads to balance it?

Re: Dark Fury finally!!!!!
I may have to try one of these on the Rocker when the time comes. A fury was on my short list when I got the Harley. I was going to get one with the Intersate engine (blackened), fat tire, and LED lights front and back, with Chrome rims. Only thing I didn't like about the fury was the gas tank.

Re: Dark Fury finally!!!!!
Well, I thought I would jump on here say I just change my back tire. I put 36,264 miles on it over the past 11 years. I noticed it was starting to show some fine dry rot cracks on the each of the tread. Of course, I put another dark side on. Hears to another 11 years and 36,000 miles. :-)

Re: Dark Fury finally!!!!!
I mounted a CT on my Gold Wing in 2010 and after over 30,000 miles, it sill looks like new. I occasionally check the tire for cracks, but so far so good. The load range is so much more than a MC tire, that I'm not too worried about the tire failing.
I agree with you about cornering on a CT. When leaning, rather than a gradual lean on a MC tire, the CT is much quicker to lean after the initial start.
