Perelli Run Flat
I have a Stratoliner with a 17" rear wheel. CT's for that size 205/55/17 are hard to find I purchased a Perelli Run Flat, in that size, and have not yet installed it. I was wondering if any one has run that tire, or any Run Flat on their bikes. It does have a very stiff sidewall, and was asking if it might be too stiff. I have run many car tires in some of my bikes but never a "run flat" one.

Re: Perelli Run Flat
Will it fit on what ?? If on a Strat or R liner , yes it will fit. A 215/60 17 will rub, if 2 up. Best to go 215 55 17. Try to get a tire with rounded shoulders. The link you show has square shoulders. A Bridgstone, and Perilli both have rounded shoulders.rossmond wrote:never tried a run flat i am on a goodyaer tt,will a 215 fit,,lots of people running winter tires with good results,, http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearchResults.jsp?width=205%2F&ratio=55&diameter=17&rearWidth=255%2F&rearRatio=40&rearDiameter=17&zip-code=

Re: Perelli Run Flat
You have the tire, you know it will fit and not rub like a 215 can.
Just put it on and ride. I have not read about any problems running a run flat tire on a bike.
These guys have some 205/55-17 tires, I run the Vredestein on my Honda and it has almost 37k miles on it now.

Re: Perelli Run Flat
My only concern is that the sidewall is so stiff, it might not flex as well as a normal tire. I still have about 1000 miles left on my bike tire that came on the bike, when I bought it. I have the Run Flat waiting to install as soon as it wears out.rrounds wrote:You have the tire, you know it will fit and not rub like a 215 can.

Re: Perelli Run Flat
OK, I installed the Perilli Run Flat on the Strat Monday. I now have 515 miles on it, and I must say I LOVE IT !!! I have run the Altimax HP on my 2 previous bikes, and this tire is waaaay better. I was worried about the stiff sidewalls, but not any more, it is great. Nice rounded shoulders is a plus.

Re: Perelli Run Flat
I now have over 2,000 miles on the Perilli, and I can say it is the best car tire I have ever run. I have bin a Darksider over 10 years, with many different car tires, but this is the best.
