THIS AM GOING TO WORK SHORTLY AFTER LEAVING THE HOUSE AT ABOUT 55MPH RIDE GOT VERY SOFT/HARDER TO STEER....PULLEDOVER REAR TIRE FLAT..... 16 penny common nail...in tread / with exit through outside sidewall....RAT FEATHERS.......15,000 MILES AND STILL LOOKS NEW....toyo proxie t1r 215/45zr/18.....time to go tire hunting...........vtx 1800 f2........ESKIMO

way to save your bacon, always trust your gut "butt". I have stopped cause it felt different but it was the road. I will take a false stop anyday than push my luck.

Bummer man. I hate it when that happens to a young tire. Glad it wasn't worse.

ya really got me thinking, I always figgered I could plug a flat, never thught off th epossibility of somethin poking thru the sidewall too
looking at the profile of my tire, it is not only posible, but likely if I pick up a nail longer than an inch and a half within the outer 2" of trear, on each side, thats 50% of my tread area
Ionce found a note under the wiperblade on a VW Vanagon I once had, the note told me to look at my left front tire, yikes, a 4" masonry nail sticling in the tread and out the sidewall, but the tire had not leaked any air,musta missed hitting air by a fraction, pulled the nail out with vise grip, never had an issue with the tire, it was a 10ply studded Hakk, I know where the nail came from
