Darkside Deuce
New to this forum and expecting delivery on a Vredestein Comtrac-V5005 175/75R16 tomorrow - 2 days after I placed the order. Can't ask for better service than that - Tires by Web, $153 + $4 for chrome valve. Don't ask about the 16" wheel on my Deuce - that's the way I purchased it (2003 year model). Not sure if Harley ever made a Deuce with a 16" rear wheel, but I have one. Looks like the standard Deuce wheel, chromed. Anybody with knowledge please chime in.
I've been interested and studying for some time, and got lots of useful info from this forum. After many calculations and measurements, this size is a very close match OD wise, which was important to me to keep the speedo accurate. The section width looks really close, but should clear the belt. I'm currently running Metzlers (180-60/16 rear) and at about 4000 miles the rear already looks like a car tire - warn in center. So I figured if it looks like a car tire after 4000 miles, why not just put one on to begin with...
Hope to have it mounted by Saturday, and will report in when I have some experience. I ride straight up 95% of the time, 55-70 mph.
Some really good info here!

Re: Darkside Deuce
I gained 4mph over my stock 150, but that put the speedo dead on. Apparently from what I read, most MC speedo's are about 5mph fast, and Harley is no exception. Odd that yours is correct? My Garmin now matches my speedo for a change.

Re: Darkside Deuce
Glad to see you made it! One way or the other.
What happen to your Vredestein Comtac 175/75 tire?
I'm still running one on my Fatboy.

Re: Darkside Deuce
I'm the first Heritage on this tire, at over 7k and it's still looking good - looooong way to go, and I camp, ride hard in the twisties and ride 2up a lot.
Guess why the club calls me "Sparky".
