Who will mount and balance a car tire on a motorcycle rim?
Will a car tire dealer do it? a motorcycle shop?
I am just wondering who is willing to do the mounting and will a Car Tire stop balance a motorcycle rim?

Here in Louisiana we have seen both car and motorcycle shops do it. Very Happy With that being said, some guys will NOT mount any car tire because 1...they don't understand it. 2...they want to save you life..... Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing 3....liability on there part. (Just remove the tire from the bike and tell them it's a drag bike and you will pay cash and you don't want a receipt.

Good luck sir and let us know what you find out? Plus glad to have you here Haydog and make yourself at home!

Twin's right; pull it off and shop around. If I remember right Caddo Mills is between Dallas and Greenville. Maybe some of the members from the DFW area might have a good place. Dealers in ETexas don't want to assume the liability. Project bike, drag bike, sidecar stories didn't work for me. Think just about any independant bike shop or chopper shop (used to be one in Sulphur Springs; I know Dallas is closer) should be able to help you out. Good luck; it's worth whatever you have to do to get the CT on the bike.

The only place in D/FW I was able to get mine done was in Haltom City. It's just on the other side of 820 on W 121. I'd hope you could find someplace closer to you since most places around here are scared of the liability.

get a set of spoons and mount it yourself. throw some balancing beads in there and you have a cheaper/better setup. Bike shops charge way to much up this way for me to ever get them to mount a tire.

for dismounting the tire , i just use a large shop vise to break the bead.

Tell them the bike has a side-car.

I had Hwy 69 cycles in lone oak put the tire on for me, then I seated it, then they balanced it. It'll cost you 25 bucks if you do it that way. If you use dynabeads, then you won't have to pay them to balance it for you! Send me a private message if you need a hand or want to talk to someone about what you've got planned.

The guys at Southwest Superbike on 35E just south of 635 in Dallas mounted mine @ their regular shop rate of 65 an hour.
