2009 Kawi Voyager
I'm about ready to take the plunge and move to the darkside...
I've been looking at tires. Anyone mounted on the Voyager yet?
I'm looking at 205-60-16.
Any good advice?

Re: 2009 Kawi Voyager
Sorry, I know nothing about the voyager. I would take some measurements and make sure there is room for a 205 in there.

2009 on a 205 60 16 bridgestone g019 potenza
2009 1700 Voyager , I was able to install a 205 60 16 on it credit card clearance with the belt gaurd. But there is no rubbing issue with the tire. Looks like 205 is the maximum for this frame. I read on one of these forums a question about a 205 65 r16. But i do not know how the sidewall sill affect belt gaurd. Picture taken right after converting to the Darkside from a stock 170 70 16 722 bridgestone. Price of stock oem about $240 and 10,000 miles of use when i removed it. Replacement cost $100 and a 50,000 mile expected life.

SWEET!!!!!! hey RCCONCH you ever checked out KawaNOW forum?
09 Kawasaki Nomad 1700
I put the same tire on the Nomad and it fits fine.....about 200 miles done and its nice. Running 47psi. and it handles and feels closer to the stock Bridestone tire. Good traction, no cornering problems, good patch wearing about 3/4" in from the outside of the tire, other than the initial first turn which surprised me on the amount of input to turn but now, I don't even notice the increase counter-steer pressure on the road highway or around town. Glad I did it.....won't go back. The kid at the dealer DS on his 900 was surprised to see a 51 y/o man doing it.....he laughed and we talked for about 10 minutes eschewing its positives and wondered why others don't do it too!

Yokohama on the ground
just returned from a 100+ mile proving trip for 195 60 16 Yokohama Avid Ascend installed on 2009 Nomad. The Yoko was was chosen firstly because it is one on the few premium brands available in the 195 width. Looks of the tire mounted on the Kawi rim convinced me I had chosen the right rubber. The dozens and dozens of switchback curves and uneven pavement on the very rural Tn 116 (Devil's Triangle) reinforced my decision to go to the DS. After just a few miles of twisties, the Nomad and I became accustomed to our new boots.
