Any plans for a 2009 DARKSIDE Rally / Get-To Gether ?

Just wonderin' if the powers that be here plan anything for 2009 ? I'm going to the VRCC Rally InZane 9 in Colorado in July. If idea's are being taken its hard to beat the east Tennessee Smoky Mountains , The Dragon , Cherohala Skyline , --western North Carolina ,The Hellbender 28 , The Highlands, etc. I could fill this web-site with cool twisties .

We have talked about it but have not firmed anything up. I think after the economy took a big dump it just fell off the discussion table. Personally I am coming for your Memorial weekend ride, and am up for another darkside rally. We do need to get it planned though so some of us that need to put in vacation at the beginning of the year can get it in.

We might have a darkside rally here in Texas....at least DS WingNut and I plan on getting together to ride.... but I'm game for a get together if ya'll have one.

Hey......We planning on doing what ever is the best plan to get the most people together! Me and Smokey talked about it this weekend. Don't get discouraged....it's the holidays and not many people on right now! The interest will pick up, trust me!

I wish I could come out there for a week or two, would love to meet up with some of ya.
My wife said no problem, as long as she gets to ride back there with me.
She love to ride, rides just about every day in the summer. Rides to work everyday, when the weathers good.

I'd love to, but all you folks live too far south or East for it to e feasible for me... especially since I am supposed to be losing most of my summer AGAIN to a deployment...

How about a Darkside Hoot near Knoxville? No reason we can't do multiple things in several areas of the country. Be cool if they were all at the same time but not in the same place.

My bet would be Robbinsville , NC its right in the middle of some of the best ridin in the nation. But rooms are a problem I have a Fall Color Ride every Oct. and we already have the motel sold out for 2009. Knoxville has rooms out the a$$ ...Thousands of them and plenty of places to eat , party etc at night. Its 54 miles to Deals Gap ( The Dragon ) 55 miles to The Hellbender , 60 miles to Cherohala Skyline , 45 miles to The Great Smoky Mountains,80 miles to The Blue Ridge Parkway , 100 miles to the motorcycle playground ( The Snake ) and I know every back-road ever made in the area that has curves. Knoxville would be a outstanding location.I'd like to make a suggestion to folks that control this site it would be nice if you picked a spot so folks can plan and save for it and if they have a dickhead boss like I do they need to give them notice as well.Photo taken on the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway as the thunder roared.

Hmm, we have black hills folks, Oregon folks, WY folks, ID folks. I think we need to have a rocky mountain rally! It would be a blast. I know of some great places in south WY in the sierra madres where there are no people (like there would be in CO)

We'll have to look into getting together something. If not everyone is welcome to come to one of the many rallies and other bike functions I participate in every year in and around WY.

( Frisco ) Colorado from July 21 -26 for the national Valkyrie Rally " InZane " we'll be ridin' the area everyday you should ride up one day and join us....Bring It...LET'S RIDE

All of it sounds good to me. Assuming I'm still employed I will qualify for a vacation in the middle of July.
