Michelin Hydroedge mileage question
Just finished wearing out my second General Grabber UHP on my VTX 1300C. I ride pretty aggressive and got 15,500 out of each of them. Been looking for another Grabber, but they are getting scarce. It seems the Grabber UHP, with the cool tread pattern, has been discontinued. I've decided to give the Hydroedge a try and I was just wondering what kind of mileage to expect out of it? I'm assuming better mileage as it's higher priced and all season tire.
I've been looking at tire websites, are there any other brand tires with a nice looking symmetrical tread pattern similar to the Grabber or Hydroedge at a decent price?
Thanks

Re: Michelin Hydroedge mileage question
The Hydroedge was what I went to after the Grabber when I had my VTX.
I thought the Michelin was a big step up from the Grabber in how smooth it was!

Re: Michelin Hydroedge mileage question
I have a hydro on my X, it had right at 18 k on it now, at least another 5k left on it..... I won't say that i'm an aggressive rider ...others will be along shortly to tell you how I ride ... Hydro is a good choice.
See you out there

Hello
My bike is a 2004 Kawasaki Vulcan 2 litre
920 pounds of bike
I have a Micheline Hydro Edge mounted size 205/60/16
I've posted this info in the Kawasaki forum but;
I now have 16,796 km's or 10,436 miles
I started with 11/32's tread depth now have 8/32's remaining
My stock tires went for approx. $350.00 each
I would only get about 12,000 to 14,000 km's on them
and yes they were bald at change out.
I figure at the rate the Micheline is holding out I
should be pocketing the cost of maybe three stock tires
before I need to change up.
Only problem is,,,,,,,
What to do with the money
Cheers and safe riding
Khuts

Re: Michelin Hydroedge mileage question
Got my hydredge installed. All I can say is awesome! Huge difference from the Grabber. Thanks guys.
I recently replaced my steering bearings too. She rides better than when she was new!

Finally wore out the Hydroedge!
I haven't been here in forever, but I thought I'd share this. I finally wore out the Hydroedge. It had a little over 22,000 miles on it! It actually had some tread left, but I ride year round, and decided it needed changing.
Apparently they discontinued the Hydroedge, so I now have a Good Year Triple Tread on there, and it is awesome. There was no break in period, it felt perfect in the first mile.
Anyway, ride safe and ride often!
