I Told Someone I'd Kiss Their Azz If ....
.....They could show me even one case where a motorcycle rider, anywhere, was injured by a car tire comming off their rear rim or in any way "malfunctioning" and, thus, causing an accident.
Oh, I know, somewhere a "darksider" rider has cracked up, low sided, highsided, head on'd or rear ended or missed a curve, but, just like any motorcycle rider, who is subject to the same laws of physics and human short commings, mishaps are gonna happen,...but,...Has ANYBODY got evidence the rear tire was the cause?
Personally, I don't think it even exists. Theres a multitude of "experts" (in their own mind) who absolutly KNOW that every darksider will eventually crash and die in a firey explosion, with no one to blame but themselves and their own selfish greed for wanting to save a little coin on tires. Mostly, because thats what they "heard" from someones brother-in-laws cousins next door neighbor, or, they just consider themselves a self appointed expert cause they wrenched on bikes all their life, and no tire mfg. recomends their use on bikes, and no bike mfg. recomends them either.(so what)
Whadda Ya Got? What can you find. Help me out here Brothers.

not entirely sure what you are lookin for? I've been down once on my CT... but it was not the ct's fault.... I think it was moreso the front tire. But only because I think it lost traction first due to the extra grip on the brake lever with my gloved hand...
but again... what are you looking for?

Sounds to me you put the burden of proof on them to find the data. Sit back and relax, wait for them to put it out there. I’m sure if the data they present is questionable, you can present it here on the forum for expert scrutiny. Hate to see anyone have to kiss azz…

Well,...It's all cool now. (This all went down on another motorcycle forum) We kissed and made up, but I DID NOT kiss his azz!
I suppose we just decided to agree to disagree. But I think I stood up pretty good for being a newb.W/only 9000 miles of Darkside riding.
I said he could call me an "on the edge", "experimental" guy, but NOT a "fool hardy", "un-informed" guy.
We'll just all enjoy our sport and forums and get along like the distant cousins that we are.

I think I have made enough passes at 190 + mph at the Maxton Mile and 1/4 drag races with harder launches going 140+ mph to prove that the car tire is not going to cause any issues.

My car tire has kept my skin off the road more than a few times. Like some other riders, I too have dove into a corner way too hot and was able to ride it out without mishap. Furthermore, in a Pa state advanced safety course, I was asked to perform the "panic breaking" section of the test within a shorter distance than the other riders. It seems that the integrated braking of the VTX matched with the surface contact of the rear tire was allowing me to perform the manuver in less than half the normal distance.
And it looks cool!
