As many of yall know my dad (smokey bought an 07 goldwing) he came home on the wing i didnt beleive he baught it thought he was pulling my leg as usual. those of yall that know him know he would do some thing like that. . but he told me later he baught it. then the vtx stilll in the bed of the truck he looks at it, looks back at me, then nods towards the vtx, looks back at me and says happy birth day bub. Again i thought he was just kidding. the look on my face must have gave it away because the next words outta his mouth where "no really bub its yours happy 15th birthday" needless to say best birth day yet . but then him and mom went on a 100 mile cruise before he would let me unload it. after i got it unloaded i took the broken fairing off, bent the board brackets back into place, and straightened out the highway pegs. now waiting on front forks, front tire, clutch pirch, and mirrors be for pumkin (yep already got her a name ) is street ride able again. caint wait to share the wind with every one in a year or so.

Get the RLAP cd and practice with it in some cones and you'll hit the road a better rider than 98% of the guys out here.
Ride Like a Pro rocks! I go out often and practice myself, even with the wife on board.

Quad, he has been practicing the RLP stuff for a couple years, he don't know that it is RLP stuff, he just thought his old man is the coolest mofo ever. I enjoy setting him up in parking lots and "letting" him practice. Hell he just thought it was cool to get to ride it in town, never realized I was training him For a 15 yr old he has some skills. Those that went to the darkside rally got to see a taste of his skills. He aint scared of the ole 1300, bout the only thing he is scared of is the fat ole man standing on the side lines watching him I probably should get the videos so he can see what it is that he has been doing and know what the ultimate gaol of the training is.

I have already been out doing the drills on the wing, one thing that I do believe in is practice practice practice, I have to know whtat my bikes limits are before I get out on the road and find them the hard way.

hell dad wht are you talking about i thinkits cool just ridding it from the garage to the front of the house or just lookin at it. but im learning and ido have a great person to learn me. iwould like to find an empty lotof some sort to get more practice but we will work with what we got.

Way cool! Just DON'T lose your cool and hit the streets illegally like I woulda at your age with that much temptation: and THAT woulda been the ONE day the I'd do something stupid on the bike, lose it, and the ONE day there would be a COP watching.

ive hit the streetsillegaly every day since i was 13. ive had nice chats with them officers of the law. only dumped one street bike. me and dad where riding and pulled into the yard and went to hit nuetral and my dang steel toe boot got stuck between the shifter and peg. didnt get it out in time and next thing i know i was on the ground rolling. it was the first but probably wont be the last. goin down is part of riding. every rider has been down or is going down at one point in his or her life JMO.

I can vouch for him, he has and he does. Damn shame they all know him by name. The last time they just called our local chief and let him handle it. No more road cruising until he gets legal. To close now to screw it up. But we can slip over to the church parking lot and practice, it's only half a block from the house. We can get there and drill all we want, after we get the stock exhaust back on it. The neighbors dont like "that loud assed Harley" then they get pissy when I correct em and tell em it's a honda Some people. My plan is that by the time Dude is legal he will be able to jump right in to competition drill team riding if he wants.
I am looking for a drill team in the area to start practicing and riding with. I like that kind of stuff.

Smokey that is cool. Both my boys ride as well. I would not let them ride on thier own untill they rode with me for a while. I would come in from work and they would say let's ride, so we would climb on the bikes and ride for an hour or so before thier mother got home. Now I would trust either one of them to ride my bike anytime. My oldest is actually riding my wifes bike because his truck was totaled and he doesn't have a vehicle right now.

To be 57 and have good RLAP skills is awesome. How much more so if you're 15! Nobody is gonna show THIS kid up!

lol i can tell yall i couldnt ask for a better teacher. i learn little buy little but it all helps out a bunch. i can hold my own on a bike.
