Hi folks, I just got here (thanks to twin1300) and I have to introduce myself as a CT newbie. I ride a VTX1300C (no mods to the rim). I searched many threads here to answer the following questions so I wouldn't have to ask these obviously redundant questions but didn't find the answers I was looking for. So here goes:
Is there a list of tires that will fit the 15 x 3.5in rim on the C model?
What is the widest tire that will fit the 1300C without mods?
Will the tire require those ugly lead weights to balance it or will 2oz's of Dynabeads work adequately?
Opinions of the coolest looking CT for the 1300C?
Sorry for the obvious newbie questions but I just had to ask!

Wesley,

Welcome sir! All valid questions and they are welcome here! NO TROLLS or Slanderous comments here!

So with that out the way, glad you asked.

Give me time to compile the list!
What is the widest tire that will fit the 1300C without mods?
It's a 215 put on by horseman8man (Mr.215) It does require some slight mods
Will the tire require those ugly lead weights to balance it or will 2oz's of Dynabeads work adequately?
It's 4oz. of dyna beads...one of the guys here are using the air soft pellets
Opinions of the coolest looking CT for the 1300C?

Welcome aboard......Twin the answer man is on the money again....I've seen more and more people running the run flat tires, on 1800's. Thinking of trying one on my 1300 to see how it mounts....

Thanks, doing a little field work myself.

One more question, while checking out the tires at Wallyworld I noticed all the tires they sell that I am interested in have a whitewall on one side. Since I do not want a whitewall on either side of my bike, does anyone have a good way of removing this stripe without melting the tire?

Lastly, what's a troll?
Shocked

A troll is basically an idiot that stops by just to argue and cause trouble. They usually have no direct knowledge of anything they talk about but are always correct.......They are booted off this site within an hour of their spotting, unless as happened once, one guy had a real question.

New and curious.. Empty Also A Newbie

I am about to order the Grabber 205/70/15 since that is what everyone says is the best looking and after checking it out online I agree. My question and I pray won't make your eyes roll back in your head, do I use a tube with this tire or not? Do I use the 90degree valve stem that is present on the stocker? What will the recommended tire pressure when riding 2 up? Thanks. This site is great and I ope to post pics soon.

It would help if u posted what bike you have or spokes or mags.
If you have the mags, C or R model, run tubeless, if you have the spokes, u have to seal the rim or run a tube. I dont know what the guys are running as far as tubes.
I have the 1300S and running tubeless.
