Dynabeads in Car Tires?
Anyone use Dynabeads in their car tires? I just got 4 new ones and have had them in to balance 3 times. Still has a shimmy at 80, so was thinking about putting dynabeads in all four tires. Wondering if anyone had any experience good or bad....

Only the ct on the bike.
If you still have the problem, you need to have them look somewere else besides the balance of the tires. You could have a bearing or something going on under the car.

Re: Dynabeads in Car Tires?
make the shop check how round the tires are. i bought a set of 10 ply tires for my truck, had to have one replaced because it would not balance, mainly because it was not round. i could see it on the balance machine but the shop kept rebalancing it to try and fix the not round tire. the shop finally replaced it after i noticed the defect in their shop.

Re: Dynabeads in Car Tires?
I had that problem in my mom's car. Turns out it was a bent axle.
My wif'es car had a shimmy at 80 that went away at 110 and she had a bad bearing. It also wore the brakes abnormally too.

re dynabeads in car tires
What are the chances Last week I bought a set of new factory takeoff mustang gt tires and wheels for my mustang.I noticed a vibration at about 70 would leave at about 80.I went to shop today to check balance, their balancing machine also checked ground force pressure.Sure enough the last tire they checked was out of round.I had never seen one of these machines before.(this is a very minimal vibration but it showed up on the machine as out of tolerence)I was impressed. I've used them in my truck tires and they work great.
Just be sure to use the motorcycle ones as the car version will cause you to crash and burn

Re: Dynabeads in Car Tires?
I had some left over motorcycle beads. I was going to use these on my car, but heard that this caused the front end to go out of alignment, fuel leaks and muffler noise in front wheel drive vehicles. Any truth to this? Or should I buy automobile beads for my auto and keep the motorcycle beads for my bike?

Re: Dynabeads in Car Tires?
I put motorcycle beads in the left side tires and car beads in the right side tires and this is what happened.....

See, it still has more contact patch than a M/T and I bet it turns better!
Re: Dynabeads in Car Tires?
they work fine on the front . Dont do burnouts if you have them in the rear tires, it will fell like wheel hop in an old muscle car :-)

Re: Dynabeads in Car Tires?
My tires must just not turn fast enough cause I never noticed anything when doing a burnout. Your bike is a little higher HP though and turn a lot faster in 1st gear.

Re: Dynabeads in Car Tires?
I had Dynabeads installed in my brand new tires and wheels for my 1968 AMX (BFG Redline radials on replica wheel)s and the car would begin shimmying at 50 and was shaking so violently at 70 MPH that the hood and sheet metal parts vibrated visibly so I did not go any faster. After 100 miles, I took the car to a local reliable tire shop, had them remove the Dynabeads and use regular weights and now my ride is as smooth as it should be at all speeds. The people who promote the Dynabeads are not dummies but it is possible that they are not a fix all for every car tire.

Re: Dynabeads in Car Tires?
It's possible that whoever mounted the tire used grease and got a blob inside the tire that collected all the beads.

Re: Dynabeads in Car Tires?
When the tire shop removed the beads there was no evidence of grease. In fact they were not aware of Dynabeads and thought that it was sand. I returned the Dynabeads to the shop that installed them in my tires.
Thanks for the thought because someone else may have the grease problem.

Re: Dynabeads in Car Tires?
The last I saw, you had to use special valve stem inserts to use the dynabeads in car tires, or the beads will plug up the valve and not balance the tire correctly.

Dynabeads
I could agree with you if ere was not an average of 1 cup of beads in each tire. The valve would not hold that much.
But that was another good thought.
Thank you!

Re: Dynabeads in Car Tires?
One cup of beads per tire might be to much. You can check their website http://www.innovativebalancing.com

Re: Dynabeads in Car Tires?
You hit the nail on the head. My tires are 205R70 X 14 or the equivalent of the E-70 X 14 polyglass in size.
The 15" tire only requires 3 ounces so there was far too much in each tire. because of my smaller diameter.
I think that this was the first time that this tire store used the Dynabeads so it wa overloaded.
Thanks for your help.

I would say that they overloaded the tires. A freakin' cup per tire?!

I'll bet the bike jumped 3" in the air while they tried to settle!
