Is a rather lenghy review of my experiences on the darkside, posted there for the naysayers.
I hope I did no injustice to this mod, and brought to light that many of the negatives mentioned to us are myth.
I didn't post it here because of your experiences are what got me to the darkside.

Mark, I read your post on this sight ,was impressed with content and your ability to convey your point.I only found one problem.You have accepted a myth yourself.You stated that a MC tire was made of softer rubber compound which in theory should be true but in fact the opposite is true.This would atribute to the better traction with a CT let them chew on that one for a while.RIDE SAFE Larry S.

Larry, I went back and corrected spelling errors, etc, but didn't see where I wrote the car tire being softer. Maybe I missed it in re-reading it

the response to the review on hs.net was way better than I thought it would be, but the response on the vlx site was poor, and I got beaten there, and even allowed myself to be baited somewhat. I really believe that there is a way better class of members on the hs.net forum. I've considered deleting the vlx site post .
I was hoping not to do discredit to the darkside.

Don't beat yourself up too bad Mark. You have opened the door for darksides on smaller bikes. That is commendable. I'd leave the post and let folks read it. It's hard not to get baited into online arguments, but it's just not worth it. Facts speak louder than words. When you have 20k on that tire, you can bring up the old thread with a big ole "I TOLD YOU SO". There will be folks on there that get tireed of paying $250 every 10k miles - those that ride a lot. They'll come over to the dark side and thank you for posting. DS-Wing-Nut got me over here. I was a skeptic at first, but facts speak louder than opinions in my book. I'm sure you have planted a seed over there.

Yes, the thread went along very well I thought. Several darksiders came out of the closet (so to speak). Good addition by zman. Kind of throws a wet towel on the flame wars when several folks pipe up and share their experiences. You even had a couple that seemed genuinely interested in going to the darkside.
