Road Noise on the DS? Empty Road Noise on the DS?

Post  Stick-Man Thu Jun 12, 2008 7:29 am

Still doing some research on the darkside. One of the tires that I looked at on line had a comment about execessive tread noise? Does the car tire cause much more road noise due to the tread or just that much more tire on the road?

Thanks,

Mine is so quiet that you don't notice it. You couldn't hear mine if you wanted too. I even went with quiet exhaust and still can't hear any road noise. I don't have a non-directional tread also and no noise.

I think that's just a farse! I have ridden around and with a bunch of darksiders and never heard road noise from a car tire.

I think most road noise from tires is the result of uneven tread wear. i run a directional tire with no noise at the 4000 mile mark. A bike should not have the shearing effect on the tread that a car does so i expect to get even tread wear, once it starts to wear. Very Happy Although any noise would be difficult to hear over the pipes and the wind. just my take on it.

The only noise I ever hear out of my DS is when I'm doing a big ol smokey burnout. Even then, really, I hear the engine and smell the tire. Cool Twisted Evil Cool
