VA road info please

Can anyone down VA way tell me about rt. 614?
I want to get from Tazewell back toward I-81n.

614 (Grapefield Rd.) ..Which is IN my back yard ..Yes for real... .Will take you to I-77 than you can take that to I-81..
Or US 52 .. When are you coming to my area????

Leaving Robbinsville, NC in the morning, and doing The Snake and Back of the Dragon
on the way north.  
I've read your postings and enjoy them along with the pics. I figured you would know that road.
After I read about rt. 610 and the dirt part you encountered, I thought I better ask about 614.
Long as it's not dirt we'll give it a try!

It's a wonderful paved road... Not as technical as VA16 {Back of the dragon}
That by the way it really get cool heading to Welch wv...
But a blast to ride.... We can see a small part of 614 from our porch...
We are on 61...That is also a wonderful road to ride to Narrows Va...
It runs along the river.... WE have many cool roads that you can take to get north...
Via cutting through the woods ...Hey keep in touch.... Maybe we all could have a cup of coffee....  
If you would like I can pm you our number...

I'll take any reccomendations for a backroad ride you can give.
If they take us north and east, I'm game.
Any good mom-n-pop places to stay around there? I got a feeling
we won't get much further before dark.

There is one dive motel in Tazewell..Fincastle motel..
It old .. But it is a bed...I have never stayed there ..But a friend has .before we bought this place..

we're not scared of dirt, just rather not encounter it as a surprise. Yea, got a couple
of stories haha.

There is a hotel "Comfort Inn" before BlueField that we stayed in while we was farm hunting..
It was clean ... Princeton  is not a good place to stay IMHO..

  a place to eat.... Need to think more about this...

From what I know he is only there on the weekends and only for a few hours.....

But they had been running late and I had already started supper...
So we never got together   

It bummed me out...

Yes, sorry we were late. We ended up doing the Dragon, the Snake, and the Back of the Dragon that day.
Long day but great riding!!
We took 219 & 250 when we left Bluefield. Them are some nice roads too!
Next time we gotta get together for a ride for sure. And thanks for the info
on the motel, worked out great.

Hey Lady D, we just took 460 to 219 then 250 back to I-81.
Made it as far as Harrisburg, PA. for the night. Then got home
about 2 Saturday. Was a great trip! 3,075 miles. We did Skyline Drive,
BRP, the Dragon 7 times, Cherohola twice, 441, Clingman's dome, Foothills Parkway,
Joe Brown Highway by Hiawassee Dam then routes 30 & 319 into Tellico Plains.
Then on the way home we did the Snake & the Back of the Dragon.
I washed my bike today, pretty sure there were bugs from all 7 states we hit...
