Man That Looks Sharp..I wish that was my Bike..

I would like to do that, maybe this coming winter when its put up for the winter.
I was wonder thou does it cause the engine to get hotter by adding all that primer & paint, also being black? Not real familiar with this...probably a dumb question...anyway I really like the looks.
But it`s riding season now & I still got to put My new V&H Bigshots & H/C Pro R on,Then Do the rejetting or Scar Mod.
Does anyone no the big differents between the two? Advantages & Disadvantages.
Also does anyone know if that will void the warranty through Honda if I decide to do the work myself? Thanks Again..

Lovingmyvtx, no such thing as a dumb question here, actually I thought it a good one. The engines on our vtx's is water cooled so the paint can not cause a problem with the temps. While the paint would cause it to hold a miniscule amount of extra heat (guessing less than a degree) that problem is negated with the radiator.

Now on to the jetting question, if you are not changing your airbox or modding it there is no reason to rejet it. The scar mod works well. Before I would do anything though put the exhaust on and then go run it. A lot of these only need a tweek on the a/f mixture screw.

Good luck

Hey first I would like to thank you`ll for the quick answer to the first question. But I will also be changing my breather out with a Hypercharger Pro R,so I guess I`ll end up doing the rejetting or the scar mod. I was wondering if it would be better to do the scar mod than the rejetting? I`ll have a jet kit that comes with the hypercharger,I`m Sure it won`t be the best parts thou.I would like to know the Advantages & Disadvantages of the two..
Also does anyone know if that will void the warranty through Honda if I decide to do the work myself? Thanks Again..

Hey there,thanks alot
It sounds like it would be the best thing to do
I was reading alot of the post that has had it done they seem to like it,even read some that has done the rejetting just to find their bike running like crap,so they went back & done the scar mod.
I was reading the instruction it looks pretty simple..
I was curious as to why it is better?
I don`t know why anyone would buy a jet kit if this is all they have to do....it looks almost to simple....
Again Thanks For all the post on here about my Question Under the wrong header of Painted Engine LOL Laughing ...lovingmyhondavtx

Hey your engine looks great - my wife said "OOOOhhhh sparkles!" Cool . I also painted my engine - 4 hours, and $4.00 for the paint. Laughing

I did not do all the diamond cut but would like to do that when I have time. This was done the night before Leesburg Bikefest and I did not decide to do until 9:00 at night.

Anyway - yours looks great! Very Happy Ron
