99 Royal Star Venture with California Sidecar

Hello All,

Just found this site from a posting on a sidecar forum. Most interesting....

I'm considering a CT on my rig and have found from this site that a 165/80/15 should be the right size. The stock size is 150/90/15
I've been taking notes from the information listed here and I'm ready to give it a try.

Anyone else running a hack that could offer some advice?
Any and all information is greatly appreciated.

Great tire! You will love it! They will be hard to find though! It's a VW tire and I rode one for 1 1/2 years! Awesome tire. Congrats on your decision to try the Darkside. Glad to have you here!

You might have to check out some VW/Foreign car dealers to find one. JMO

Missed a number and didn't proofread (that's a teacher for you)

My bike is a 99 with a stock tire 15/90-15 so would the car tire still be 165/80-15?

..........tough day at the office

and..What about the front tire? 150/80-16 stock

Back to the drawing board....that tire has been discontinued (but it's still on the site)

Darksider now. Got the tire mounted this weekend. First time the guy mounted a CT to a MC, first time he worked on a sidecar rig. I took him information from this site. Took a while to pop but it worked fine. Made a slight adjustment to the sidecar height (easy to do with electric tilt) and it's riding just fine. Going for a longer ride today.

I also have a 1999 Venture with a Velorex sidecar for 4 years now and I run the KUMHO tire on the rear and a Dunlop 404 rear tire on the front and have been very pleased with both.
