[i]hey i read a thread on vtxoa a guy said he thinks you have to run the rear tire direction backwards is that so or do you mount it the right way following the directional arrows??

That debate has been going on foreer. They say backwards rotation to keep the belts from seperating under extreme braking situations. If you plan on doing a lot of stoping with the rear tire in the air, I would mount it backwards. There are manufacturers out there making universal tires that can mount front or rear. Avon has a roadrider thats pretty good. IMHO.

It's a trade off, you either go with the tread sipes in the right direction so you get better wet traction
or the belts so your tire doesn't separate when you're doing stoppies. Rolling Eyes

The tires around here that have went with the rear tire on the front! I recommended going with the directional arrow on the tire and no issues! JMO

No one seems to have had any problems either way, but I vie for the proper tread direction - SINCE the belts aren't going anywhere anyway. That reverse direction stuff started from a Metzler suggestion that has been removed from their nomenclature.
