1800 rim on a 1300 Empty 1800 rim on a 1300

I picked up a spoke vtx1800 rim to mount a CT for my 1300S. Will I have any problems with brakes or other installation issues? I have sealed the rim and I'm ready to order my CT Probably Gen Grabber. Don't want to go any farther without checking out any issues.
Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

Frank

Welcome to the board Frank...

I believe the rotor is different, at least I know the 1800C model is.
Maybe somebody here with more knowledge will chime in.

The 1800 rotor is larger in diameter. Hope my 1300 rotor will bolt up.

That's what I'm hopin Dave. Don't want to tear down the bike till I've got all my ducks in a row! The Metz on the rear still has a couple thousand left in it, so I'm not in a hurry and don't want to be torn down for any length of time. I guess I could always turn the 1800 rotor down to the diameter of the stock 1300. That will take care of any hub diameter problems and I have access to the machinery necessary to do that Smile

It should be a simple swap. You may need to reroute the brake cable, that's all.
Watch the brake ! Definitely more power.
Robert.

Its called a foots mod. Lots of info at vtxoa.com. You can re-drill the 13 rotor or change to the 18 rotor, caliper and brakes and bracket. Jim

Quick update! The rotor off the 1300 wheel bolted on the 1800 wheel with no problems. Seal job worked the second time. (must have gotten in a hurry the first time) Douglas 205 70 15 seated the first time at 90 psi. second time at 80. Rides like a dream!
