Rear 1800/16" rim on a 1300
Just got a call last night about the possibility of getting a 1800 16" rear rim for my 1300. If this happens, what is the biggest 16" tire will I be able to mount and fit under the fender without any modification. The two tires I'm looking at are 205/65R16-26.5" Dia. and 205/70R16-27.3" Dia. Also is there any difference in the 1800 C rim and 1800 R rim? Not sure which this is. All I was told is that it was a 1800 rear rim. Any input is appreciated.

RIKI, you can do the foot's mod, which you van find on the VTXOA site.
The max. height of the tire I don't know, since I didn't have a stock fender.
As a matter of fact I've no fenders at all at the moment.
In width you can go till 215 without any mod's. You'll have to use the grinder
for the fender if you wish to remain with the same height, that's for sure.
With some mod's you can even go to a 215 or a 225.
Horseman and I have 2 different mod's to go with them.
Horeman's mod: https://mcdarksiders.forumotion.com/vtx-1300-tech-f11/horseman-swingarm-mod-215-t1137.htm
My mod: https://mcdarksiders.forumotion.com/vtx-1300-tech-f11/new-ds-tire-225-50-16-t2307.htm
Good luck and let us know.

Foots Mod
I did the Foots Mod on my 1300C. The rim will fit on the bike with no problem. The brake disc will have to be modified.
I installed the Goodyear 205/65/16 Assurance. 36 PSI. I installed the tire and wheel with little problem. The new Goodyear is over an inch taller than stock. The speedometer will be off but you will have lower RPM's which is a good thing at high speeds..
I had to remove the Goodyear after riding some and grind off an eigth of an inch off the inner fender support. Left side only. It was rubbing the tire when riding two up.
The 1800 wheel is 6" wide. The 1300 wheel is 4 1/2" So the car tire wears the 1800 wheel better. The 1800 wheel and rim fills the fender real nice.

Re: Rear 1800/16" rim on a 1300
I found out that the 1800 rim my brother was telling me about was from a 2003 or so 1800 S with spokes, and it was 15". I'm going to stick with my wheel and move toward the CT.
Thanks for all the input.

Darkside
The 16" 1800 wheel I have on my bike is an aluminum mag wheel not spoke. It required no modification to the wheel or my bike to install it. I have the 1300C model. I mounted a 205/65/16 on the wheel myself because none of the three bike shops I took it to would not touch it. As far as I know there wern't any spoke wheels on the 1800 line up.

Wheel
The aluminum wheel on the 1800 is pretty close to 6" making it ideal for most car tires. The 15" 1300 aluminum wheel is about 4 1/4" wide. When I mounted my tire in my garage it inflated and seated with no popping of the bead on the rim. How wide it the spoke rim?
