Car Tire for Stratoliner 2006 model

I have researched a bit on running car tires and want to replace stock tires on my Stratoliner with a car tire. What is the recommended tire size for it? I have been looking at the Goodyear Assurance Triple Tread 215/65/17. Will that tire fit?

I have the Power Commander installed on my bike and the Cobra pipes. Since I installed these, my mileage dropped dramatically, so I thought I'd try a 215 instead of a 205 tire. Good or not?

You can run the 215, I have over 18,000 on my General altmax HP 215/60/17 and I'am changing to a 205/55/17 Exclaim this time as I can not stop the bottoming and hate the scary slow speed manors. Jim

When you mounted the 215/60, did you have to modify anything on the bike?
