carb sync
Guys and gals, I wonder if my vibration at 80 mph (indicated) has to do with carb syncing. Big Steve recently told me his bike is just as smooth at 80 as 70. Mine is not. pegs, handlebars is vibrating more. I have pulled in clutch and vibration stops. I wonder if it would be worth having shop sync carbs. I'm not gonna mess with it myself. Bike starts and idles perfect, throttle response great. thanks

Re: carb sync
If it does what you say I doubt that its the carbs. Have you checked the bushings in your shocks? Harmonics can cause things you wouldn't normally think of.

Re: carb sync
Just look and see if the bolt is still centered.

Ok Jerry I am not knowledeable about this so bare with me. front shocks and rear shocks. Don't need to remove anything I assume. Look for bolt that attaches shocks to bike and make sure it looks centered, right? will check. thanks

No problem. You have springs in the front, inside the fork tubes. The shocks are in the rear. Yep looking will do. Sounds nuts but if its centered I would check the front tires air pressure, and probably add a couple lbs.

Re: carb sync
ok Jerry so on the back shocks, look where the shock is attached to frame near gear oil housing on left, and opposite on right? It was dark by the time I tried looking a little while ago. will check tommorrow.
Don't think it's tire pressure as I had pulled clutch in and it is quiet.

Re: carb sync
Jerry, if where you mean at end of shock attached to frame is bolt going though chrome circular metal piece, and it is not totally even on each side of the circular piece, barely.

Re: carb sync
If they aren't centered your bushings could be wearing out causing the vibration. Maybe some one with your bike can check theirs and chime in for a verification.
