just checked psi and shows honda put in 38lbs. sidewall states 51psi. Should i put 51 lbs in? I know stock is 40 lbs. so maybe honda trying to duplicate that, but sidewall i'm thinking would rule. I see others post that it is personal preference, but i want what will be best for tire wear, which i would think is sidewall psi. thanks!

Try it there and see how you like it. You can go up or down in 4-5lb increments till you find a place that feels good then go up od down by a lb or 2 until you find your sweet spot. As the tire wears your sweet spot can change also.

I know it is a personal thing, but wonder if the psi to get most wear out of tire isn't on the sidewall, 51 psi. I question why most of this site are starting at about 40 psi, not 51 like on sidewall. Is it because cars are much heavier so need more psi?

I beleive you will change your mind and go with the pressure that most suits your riding comfort and safety.I couldn't even tell you what mine says on sidewall don't personally beleive it is important. Very Happy Very Happy

I put 45 lbs in yesterday and felt great riding. Guess I could try 50 and see difference if any.

If you use to much air your tire will be rounded more than normal. As a result the center of your tire will wear out just as fast as your mt did.

I think that is right Jerry and thanks for commenting. I waS thinking along those lines also, that more air would bring up the sides even if not noticed, which is why swerves felt less clingy. I will put it back to 45 and observe tire wear.
