Best tire for the rain
I am interested in switching out to the Darkside before moving to FLA. Florida gets huge amounts of rain and I am looking for the best tire to handle those type conditions. Can anyone suggest the best rain tire? Been looking at the Grabber, GYTT and HydroEdge. Have an "06 1300C.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Best tire for the rain
Have heard good things about the Hydroedge. That tire is too small to fit on mine. I am running a Toyo Proxie T1R 215/45 18 on mine and love riding that thing in the rain.
Can you say "20 foot rooster tail."

re best tire for the rain
I am running the GYTT,205/60/16 so that is the only one I can comment on.I hit the hardest rain I have ever ridden in last summer comming out of Eureka Springs.I was very impressed with the way the tire handeled (never felt it loose traction). What ever your decision I am sure you will be impressed with your ride on the Darkside. ENJOY, RIDE SAFE Larry S.

Re: Best tire for the rain
I am running general grabber uhp and love it, was caught many times in the rain and love it. The tire performed flawlessly and rode great.
Re: Best tire for the rain
I run the cheapp Douglas mud and snow tire and it works great, so I can say that what ever tire you choose is going to perform better than you think. That of course is my humble opinion, and I'm sticking with it.

I think any of the tried and true tires can be recommended. I think they will all excede any situation you will be in.
Hey, pay attention to the rooster tail when you ride in the rain. Quite impressive.

Re: Best tire for the rain
I ride over a big overpass on my way hame from work with a pretty good banked curve and steel expansion joints. When it rains the M/t's slip just for a second but with the Grabber no slip. Now it's only half as unnerving as it use to be. As for the Grabber, I had one blow off the rim while being mounted at 45 lbs. I'm sure it was a defective and was replaced with no charge but if I ever need another one.....
