Your 70 degree day isn't very warm, certainly not going to free rubber up to stretch more. Try a space heater?
Check the rim for ridges and sand accordingly, polish them out maybe?
Maybe measure the rim and the inside of the tire and see just how much interference you're getting compared to the MT.
