pulling the exhaust
ok, i got the tire now i have to wait till this week end to change it over. my question is, are there any gasket on the exhaust and do they have to be replaced . let me tell you i've had so many people tell me this past week that it can't be done. so i just direct them to this site, and show them some vid's on you tube. the local tire store guy just thinks i'm nuts. can't wait till it's done so i can just go show'em.

Re: pulling the exhaust
exhaust does not have to come off for a tire change, FYI.... if you want to remove or have to for whatever other reason there is a gasket under both parts that bolt to the head. They are not expensive, couple bucks each or so I think. It's recommended to replace them everytime since they are crush gaskets, but some say they didn't and don't have any problems...
if you want some instructions, bareasschoppers.com should have a write-up for both the tire and exhaust (I think) on his website.
Good luck and take your time, the N fender is a little trickier than my old F fender was! (clearance)

I had to pull the exhaust on my 1300R to get at the axel bolt. Here are numbers for the crush gaskets.

Re: pulling the exhaust
guess it might depend on what exhaust you have? Dropping the swingarm by disconnecting the shocks might help, I also have just loosened up the rear moutn bracket and been able to flex the exhaust slightly enough for clearance...
