Post  bbbd Mon Aug 31, 2009 8:07 am

I have yet to ride this bike personally. I was on vacation and a friend of mind put a car tire on his 1800 r while I was gone and he called me and said now his bike pulls to the right reaaly bad you are constantly pulling to the left to keep it in the road. Im at a lost I havent had a chance to put mine on. he also went wheel weights instead of dynabeads and running 45psi its also a directional tire thats all the info I have at this time. bike only has about 7000 miles on it. has im writing this maybe its the air pressure. any help would be appreciated

Dude! Something is NOT lined up correct on your friends bike! This is NOT a characteristic of the car tire or any tire as a matter of fact, it's just a tire and should NOT effect the bike in that manner at all!

either the tire is bad as in a broken belt,or just one that is defected,or the bike is somehow out of alignment.never heard of a ct makin the bike pull to one side before.it allso could be the front tire making it do strange things.when i changed front tires.it became alot easier to lean and turn.of course,i only have an 1100 though

My first thought was a radial pull.

If the tire is a Yokohama AS430 (NTB tire), I'd bet you anything it's a radial pull. I can't tell you how many times I've seen those come back with problems. There are a couple other Yokohama tires of essentially the same design sold through other companies.

Or....if he is riding in the right hand lane and it has any type of water run off lean to it the ct will want to run flat to the road and appear to have a pull to the right........just thinking out loud....

it is a bridgestone and we primarily run two lane highways there is a water runoff when he is on the outside is where it is worse and it is following grooves off road unless you pull it back front tire has @ 1000 miles on it

and thanks for the replys we are still looking to find out what the problem is

Try lowering air pressure in rear tire.

I agree, try it at 30 psi, I've found lower pressure will track less, and provide better traction.
If the road crown is the problem, when you run in the left lane it should pull the other way.
