Scoutin' out The Blue Ridge Parkway for the Labor Day Ride

Took off friday morning and rode the super slabs I-40 - I-81 to Waynesboro,Virginia . Found a real decent motel for our pre-ride party on Aug.29 plenty of restaurants ,gas,beer etc . Hit the Blue Ridge Parkway saturday morning at mile post # 0 . The weather was beautiful that morning rode to mile post # 261 for the night. Normandog hooked me up with a motel in West Jefferson , North Carolina it too is a decent place with restaurants , gas , beer etc. for our saturday Aug.30 lay-over. I rode the entire Parkway from mile post # 0 to mile post # 469 and the motels are layed out perfect for our " Labor Day Weekend Ride Down The Blue Ridge Parkway Aug.29-30-31 " . We can take our time and enjoy the awesome road and take in the beautiful scenic over-looks with no problem . I'm looking forward to this ride already . Without a doubt The Blue Ridge Parkway is my favorite ride the temps was anywhere from 15 to 20 degree's cooler on the mountain.I'll post all motel information on wednesday the 18th...Bring It...LET'S RIDE

Thanks for posting all the pictures. Greg and I have made a trip up the Blue Ridge every year for about 8 years. We missed last year because I had pneumonia and we can't go this year because of his father. Man, I miss that ride. We would take 5+ days to do the whole parkway because we would get off the parkway and view other local sites. The war memorial at Beddington is just awesome.
