Thinking I could buy it and turn around and sell it for an extra $6,000

I would really be suspicious of a deal like that! I really don't see it happening, unless the seller isn't the owner...

sounds to good to be true and smells fishie, just like a scam.

If you can check that bike localy, and if somoene needs money desperetly, then may be a good deal.
If it's something overseas and if they ask you to send money first, screw them. It's scam.

I found few of those deals and always was something fishy about it.
If I cannot inspect bike and see it in person, well, I usually pass.
