TIRE SIZE not tire size

When you are looking for a tire it is not as easy to do as you might think, you have to find the real specs and not just pick a tire size like the 215/65R15 they will range as far as an inch difference in the real size . For a long time Twin has told everyone to take a tape measure with you and check it for yourself, well he wasn't foolin'.
Just look at this specs on a few tires , some of them I had to call a dealer and have them measure or go to the tire shops myself get the tread size .

All the same size tire isn't all the same sizes tire as you can see . just because you go with a 235 wide tire when you could have gone with a 215 and have a wider tread without the sect. width rubbing on everything.
Oh and another thing price some dealers sell you a tire with 300% markup, i found my tire the Nexen cp641 as little as $49.95 and as much as $168.99, also shipping cost keep in mind . sometimes the local dealer is cheaper.





So i guess what i am saying is measure twice buy once , your friend , Horse

"Take a tape measure" is correct!... .. Good write up and great info for anyone going to the darkside and going to buy a tire NOT on our list of tires that has been mounted before. Things aren't as they always seem.

Wow there is quite alot of diffrence in some of those measurments. and all listed as the same size tire. Great stuff to know.. Good find. Horse thanks for the info
