Advanced Safety Course (DARKSIDE!)
Hello everyone, I'm just dropping by to share some info with anyone who might be interested. I recently completed the Pensylvania Experianced Rider Safety Program on my VTX1800c darksiding a Yokohama 205/60/16. The course was held near Carlisle Pennsylvania over at the Harley Davidson dealership on Carlisle Pike. Both the instructors (and several other riders) were smirking at the car tire at the beginning of the course. There were some questions about the bikes ability to make the tight "S" turns and small box figure eights. I am happy to report that the car tire did not adversely affect slow, tight cornering or manuverability however, the low ride hight had me on the pegs most of the day but I was able to successfully complete the training course and the final test .... Woo Hoo!
Score another win for the Darkside!

Re: Advanced Safety Course (DARKSIDE!)
Great to hear!!! When I was taking the basic MSF course I was riding my bike with the cartire on it to the course. The younger of the 2 instructors noticed it as a car tire and went on a rant, "that wont work, you cant do that" yada yada yada. The other, older instructor said " I watched him ride it in here so apparently it does work." I took a little ride with the younger crotch riding one during lunch. Now he knows it works and has a little appreciation as to how well it works . Afer the graduation ceramony the older one caught me and asked if I was gonna get my license now
Sure am glad he wasn't wearing his uniform that day
See you out there

Re: Advanced Safety Course (DARKSIDE!)
I teach the dang course and ride a darkside so I don't think any of my students will be getting grief if they show up on one.
When asked about it I do point out that it is not for all people and certainly not for all bikes, but in the cases where it does work it works fine.
