metz marathon here. metz and douglas what a combo! from what i have read on multiple threads, the most popular tires are either metz or avon. all that i know for sure, is no duncraps for me again or a m/t on the rear

Re: FRONT TIRE
Have been running a Metz 880 Marathon up front for about 11k - so far so good & still has a good amount of tread. I run 40 psi in it though to squeeze more miles out of it.

Re: FRONT TIRE
I"m told the dunlops purchased after market are much different than the stock tires that come on the bike. Can anyone confirm this? Honda does skimp on tires, shocks, springs, but not sure the aftermarket dunlops are the same as those that Honda purchases in mass quantities.

Ask my twin.....titaniumwing about the Dunlops you buy for you second set. His new Dunlop front tire on his Shadow Ace took 5 oz..... You heard me right...5 oz., not grams to balance it! I wouldn't run them, if they were free! JMO!

Re: FRONT TIRE
That tire has some problems.
No tire should take more than 1 1/2 oz at the most.

Bridgestone SpitFire
I'm using a Bridgestone SpitFire. It seems alot more robust than the stock tire and matches up nicely with my c/t. Good Luck!

Re: FRONT TIRE
Absolutely love my Continental milstone, heck I even loved the rear milestone as they are the best handling AND longest lasting cruiser tire I've ever run. They also have a cool tread patter.
Bought mine from Chapparal racing .com

ShadeTree
Grizak,
I got my Bridgestone Spitfire at Shadetree. (We have one of the two nationwide places in Middlefield Ohio) The size was the same as the existing tire which at the moment I don't remember. But it did seem to be a little bit thicker and slightly wider, though this may be just me. Everyone has their preference which is OK. I got mine off of Twin. It rides better and has less wobble at this point. I'll probably change the steering wheel bearing soon to a taper which should take care of that also. Good luck!

Re: FRONT TIRE
I think it's a 110/90/19 on the size of the Bridgestone Spitfire S11. It can be had for the whopping price of $60 on the net. WOW, that is unbelievable price for such a good tire.
I highly recommend this tire for any one who wants an aggressive handling tire for the front or rear. If I didn't do the darkside, I would have these on the rear.
