Up and Running Again.
Well fellas, "Ebony" is back up on her feet again. I swapped out the bars and cables today. Minus the left grip. I'll work on that tomorrow, the twist and tug method didnt work at all. I also forgot about the bar weights and need to do some fine tuning on lever positions and throttle play. So today was just a practice run for tomorrow.
As I said I was going to do I went for a quick ride. (Yes, minus the left grip) I only went out to the main Hwy and back only because my sister and brother in law were coming to take us out for dinner. Of course when I got back my wife was PI$$ED! All during dinner she was giving me greif, shes still way past mad even after we talked about it. After they left she went straight to bed.
I guess I'll be in the doghouse for a while, but at least my bike will be parked on the stoop.

Nah, she was miffed because I was "going against" Doctors orders and riding with a (cast) walking boot.wrongway wrote:Muntz wrote: Of course when I got back my wife was PI$$ED!

Re: Up and Running Again.
Dude, I ripped apart my right foot crashing my dirtbike (degloved it and ripped apart most internals) Two years later it is still swollen, hurtslike hell and the nerve damage will be with me for life. The point it as soon as I could kinda limp on it enough to hold the weight of me I went for a ride with the cast on it. I had to be careful at stop signs to lean the bike left so I didn't drop it since my right foot couldn't support any extra weight, but ehy I'm young and stupid.
My wife was not impressed either, but she understands it's a sickness I have and so she just left it at a simple warning about not helping me pick up the bike if I droppped it on my fool self

Just wait till the baby comes. Then you talk about nutz. But nothing replaces those babies. Take care of the foot and ride when the Doc says so. Keep the piece, and ride when you can.
Just so you know. I got 500 miles logged this weekend and am ready for more.
Looking forward to logging a few with some of yall.
Peace

Re: Up and Running Again.
Yeah , after 25 years my wife lets alot of stuff slide... but even she was pushed to her limits the week before last. I lost an inner tie rod on my camaro during a race weekend and the car went out of control, crossing the center and taking out the 330' timing block. After having it towed to the the trailer, i was trying to fix the parts and get the car back on the track. She lost it and told me how it wasnt a good idea to go 140+ mph on questionalble parts.
So I sent her after some parts and made 2 more passes while she was gone :-)

Dont worry Muntz, Your wifes hormones are not out of wack.......yet......wait until the 8th and 9th months. You'll be walking on eggshells.....Right now she wants to make sure you are going to be there for her, not ending up in the hospital yourself.......Wait till your healed, then she wont worry.....

Re: Up and Running Again.
Same problem with hubby. Broke my right wrist in June and had it pinned. Cast off on Wednesday, Doc said no riding for 2 months. Hubby wanted to go out of town to see brother, I said not unless we ride. Friday, 800 mile roundtrip. Great. He was a little over protective and lecturing, but after it was done, he let up. Then Week before last, had knee surgery on Thursday, rode on Saturday. Again, same response. I say, do what you can do. Thats my motto.
After all, at the rate I'm having things fixed, may not be a whole lot more miles in me. Gotta get em while I can.
