Today pulled off the 195/55r16 and mounted up a Michelin Primacy Alpin PA3 ZP Run Flat on the 2010 Ultra Classic. Mounted pretty smooth and plenty of room from the belt. Took for a good ride, works great. Question is answered the 205/55R16 fits the Ultra Classic no problem.

Not questioning you at all but there are others on this forum that say it will not fit. Don't want to buy the tire and find out it will not fit.
Are you sure there is enough room for the belt?

It fits, had it on my 2010, pulled it off traded the bike for a new 2012 Ultran and installed it on it. There is lots of room for the belt, could even go bigger if I wanted to. What it appears to be off of the bike and what it is when mounted are completely different

I was going to go with 205/60R16 so the speedo would be close. Do you think there would be a problem with going with the 60 instead of the 55?

What make tire did you use and what tire pressure is best?

Thanks for the reply.

Went rip through Colorado, rode the 550, dropped my pressure to 31 lbs. much better. My speedo was off, I have a Power Vision Tuner so I had the mechanic adjust it when he dyno tuned the bike its right on now. I have a bout 12000 miles on this Michelin still looking good

Hmm, there it is again! Why would someone need to retune the motor when it's part of the drivetrain that is being modded?
(really, I'm carbed and just don't know)

So the 205 55 16 will fit. Is there room for a 205 60? All I want is to get closer on the speedo. Like to do it with a 195 but can't come up with a 195 65 size to do it with. Just as soon have a little narrower tire.

Any wobble at higher speeds with the 205?

I cant say for sure but I think a 205/60 would fit. I have no wobble issues at any speed. I was running 36 PSI and recently dropped to 31
I like it better there, it rides even smoother. You can buy a device called a speedo healer to correct your speedo error.

I installed a 205/r60 16 on the rear of my 2012 HD Ultra Classic.

It rides well... and should be good for the next 25K +.

I have been doing some experimenting with pressure, I read on a Goldwing forum where guys are using 26-28 lbs. I wore out the center of my first Michelin prematurely from too much pressure. I dropped to 30 lbs on a new tire. Recently went on a 4000 mile trip, a lot of which was in the mountains of Colorado and Wyoming. I dropped my pressure to 28 lbs and tire seems to be wearing pretty even, still handles the same and rides great.

I had a 2004 Goldwing, ran a 195/65/16 on it to keep the speedo correct. Your question about whether a 205/60/16 will work after knowing a 205/55/16 will,,, yes, the 60 series will be narrower than the 55 series. It will be taller also, which is what you want. I ran 31 pressure in my goldwing to make it wear even and also makes the ride great for the passenger. Lasts forever too. Wallacem in Ga.

Running that kind of pressure you will certainly wear out the center of the tread very quick. I suggest you drop the pressure down to 36, ride it, then drop the pressure 2 pounds at the time and ride it. I think when you get to the range of 28-34 pounds, you will find it handles great, and the wife will tell you she likes the ride even better, and the tread will last forever, it seams, at least twice normal, usually 3-4 times as long as a m/c tire. you will also find better traction when you get the pressure down, both on straight and in the curves. Yes, I have heard they will handle fantastic at high pressure, around 45psi, but part of the equation,,,, how is the middle of the tread holding up. You might want to measure the tread in the middle and on the sides. You will probably find it is wearing very fast.

My buddy put 45 Lbs in a bridgestone on his Goldwing, we went on a trip within about 2500 miles the center of the tire was shot, we dropped the pressure to 31 lbs and it made it the 1500 miles home but was completely done. He now rides with 30 in the new one and not wearing.
