First ride on CT Empty First ride on CT

I bought a 195/55R-16 KUMHO ECSTA SPT XRP RUNFLAT from Tirerack.com and paid the good guys at Crago Racing in Van Nuys to mount it.

Observations of a rookie

1) LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS more steering input at low speed. I found I had to basically PUSH the bike to lean
2) Rides a bit lower
3) Rides smooth on highway
4) Got used to it in about 10 miles.
5) I would not use it is I rode the mountain roads around here - of course I would not have a Wing either.

LOVE IT!

John, give it a few hundred miles to get it out of your head that youare riding on a car tire and you will be carving the canyons on it and your wing. I will ride mine anywhere, The tire is not the limiting factor. The wing will easily scrape the crash bars with that tire back there. Dive in a hot corner and know it is going to stay under you.

Welcome and enjoy

See you out there

First ride on CT Empty CT in the twisties

Smokey could not have been more right. Today I went on a Poker Run that included some of the curviest roads in SoCal and after the first few miles it was just no big deal to be running the CT.

I got a lot of questions from other riders; Can it turn? Does your insurance company know? Why a CT? Who mounted it? How much?

One of the best mods yet. Thanks to all those who went before me and created the knowledge and experience that FINALLY convinced me to make the move.
