Three Wheeler Tire
I am building a 3-Wheeler (reverse trike). The donor is a 1991 Yamaha FZR1000. The front end is custome Ford Mustang II parts with two seats side by side and rack and pinion steering. The Stock Rear Tire for my Yamaha is a 170/60R 17. It, of course, is a rounded tire for cornering. Because my 3-Wheeler has two tires front and one rear, it cannot corner like a conventional motorcycle. I want to install a square profile car tire on the rear, but the motorcycle dealer said I needed to find what size the Stock Tire converts to in a car tire. The dealer said a lot of guys are using the Goodyear Eagle "Tripple Tread", because it is made with 3 compounds and the corners are slightly softer. Said they seem to work well. Any HELP with the tire conversion?

Re: Three Wheeler Tire
A 17 that narrow is going to be tough. How much clearance do you have now?

3-Wheeler Tire
The Stock Motorcycle tire measures about 7" wide and the wheel about 6". Therefore the tire hangs out past the wheel about 1/2" on each side. It seems that there is about another 1/2" clearance between the tire and the chain guard. Is that what you mean?
