Hole Shots?
Question, Do you guys do holeshots with your "Big A$$" tires. I did a search and only found one video.

nope
I do not want to be doing clutch replacement, and am afraid the grip could wear or damage the clutch. I did one, just to be sure it still would, and it definitely will....

I did a burn out on my V2K this summer with my big ct that I have on it. Affraid to be pulling and launching it up the road affraid of snapping the belt.

Re: Hole Shots?
I ride a 2007 GL1800, yes a big old Hondabego (as my buddy calls it) Goldwing. I take it to the dragstrip every now and then for friday fun nights. The same buddy brings his hopped up cammed tuned and jammin tourer. Another buddy brought his 103 inch HD wide glide.
I really expected them both to be competitive, but.... I am happy to report the wing rocked their world. I was half a second faster than them at the end of the 1/8th mile.
Even when I race the blown out sport bikes I own them until the 60 ft mark. It takes them that long to get them gathered up under them and keep the power to the pavement. Once they hook up it is all over, but it sure is fun to smack their asses off the line.
With the car tire back there it sure makes standing the fat girl up for a dance awful easy. I am not a wheelie guy at all but when I launch off the line it will damn sure pull the front up quick.
I dont do the preflight burnouts, (which also pisses the sport bike guys off) cause the fat ass 205-60 back there does not need it to hook up hard.
Times? Well I'm glad you reminded me to post those. I run anywhere from an 8:49 to an 8:63 depending how heavy the fat girl is loaded. Not to bad for a PAWPAW bike
See you out there

I would like to make a small point I did it one time and I know it is to hard on my bike in my eyes.I dont baby her but I dont abuse it.I might run her a little faster than I should but thats in fifth gear.I only had her a couple of years and that 2053 cc still has me affraid of it.quadancer wrote:Nah, I travel too much to beat up my bike. Re: Hole Shots?
I figure that I give her enough abuse rolling on WOT and winding her up to keep up with my riding pal Ron's cammed Yamamaha in the mountains.
If I snapped a belt I couldn't afford to replace the dang thing.
