I HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT THIS SITE FOR SOME TIME NOW AND SEE THAT MOST EVERYONE RIDES THE NOMAD OR OTHER KAWASAKI.MY QUESTION IS THIS,WHAT SIZE TIRE CAN I PUT IN THE REAR ON A 06 VULCAN CLASSIC AND GET GOOD RESULTS.I'VE SEEN PEOPLE TALK ABOUT THIS TIRE OR THAT TIRE BUT I HAVE NOT FOUND A REFERENCE TO THE 06 CLASSIC, AND IF THESE OTHER BIKES HAVE TO SAME FRAME AS I FOR THE CLEARANCE.THANKS GUYS I APPRECIATE THIS.

Awesome too have ya interested in the darkside thumbup

I'm 6'5" , 360 lbs and have no problem with clearance issues on the exact (except for year) same bike with a 195/60/16 Dunlop SP5000 car tire on the rear. Only precaution i took was , making sure all fasteners that came through their well nuts intruding into the tire space were tight then ground flush with the nut and painted too prevent rust. Also my bike is lowered 2" in the rear.

Just this past weekend i swapped out the backrest/armrest combo from my other vulcan NEW BUDDY WITH A QUESTION Camerapictures001

On too
NEW BUDDY WITH A QUESTION 009

and rode out too my cousins house 310 miles roundtrip, and other than the seat being un-comfortable my wife had no complaints. She only commented on how much more stable the bike felt, and too how when imperfections or debris in the road came too pass the car tire didn't fall off or skip on them but it more contoured to it and went on it's way.

My wife will never see this lafer soo , She is 5'6" 126 lbs and added to my ummm mass together was throwin 486 lbs at it with the addition of full saddlebags (maybe 26 lbs) the shocks bottomed What a Face before the tire could mae contact.

Hope this helps.

A friend brought a 205 tire down for me to mount on his 2008 1600 Nomad, exact same rear dimensions as the Classic. When installed and inflated, the tire rubbed the driveshaft tube. We remounted the bike tire, he later had a 195 mounted with no problems.

Other friends have mounted a 205 on the same bike with credit card thickness clearance, so the 205 is a maybe. However, the 195 will fit just fine, with plenty of clearance.

You have to stay with a mc tube to keep valve stem in the center. The bigger tube would be better if you can get one.The spoked wheels seem to be harder to get the tire to bead on.Good luck and welcome aboard. thumbup thumbup
