Tire rubbing the swingarm??? Empty Tire rubbing the swingarm???

Post  BadAxe Tue Jun 07, 2011 12:01 pm

Hey guys. Just had a Mich HE 205/65/16 mounted on my rim (2004 1800C) with stock (vtxexhaust.com) pipes. Dude that is installing the wheel back onto the bike just left me a VM stating it is very slightly rubbing against the swing arm.

Anyone run into this? And if so, what should I do? Thanks.

There was a recent discussion about that size Hydroedge rubbing on the swing arm of 1800's.

As far as I recall it is only a problem with the HydroEdge which is a shame because it is a great riding tire.
Hopefully minor hammer application will give you the clearance you need. Vader

This is strange indeed. I know all tires vary a bit in width, but this much?
Anyway, personally I would rather place the wheel out of center a bit ( who knows maybe it will finally be centered)
instead of hammering.

Good luck,
Robert.
