I removed everything I needed to, but I went a different route. I did what TexPops did.

I did what you guys did except I used vacuum caps for cars. 3/8" rubber caps from Auto Zone with ty-wrap around each one. Here's a pic of mine. You have to use some silicone spray to help slide them on....they are tight and tough to slide them on, just wiggle them while pushing on the end.

Ayup there's different ways to get-r-done, just nice not to hear all that decel racket however it's done.

Yes, smokey is correct...not only did it cure the backfiring while decelerating, it also removed the blappy sound from my HK K-2's when running at a steady speed. I hated that sound.
Smokey showed me how to remove mine. Easy ten minute job, the way we do it...hehehehehe

Yep...... I still got the wounds from our meeting. How could I forget you after that, every time I look down, there's smokey......It wouldn't have been so bad but I just installed the paint job 3 weeks prior to the.....ooops!
