VS800 Intruder
Newbie to the site and first post. I have searched for any info for a CT on a VS800 and couldn't find much. Any recommendations for tire size? Thanks in advance.
Looking forward to be riding on the Darkside...

Welcome to the site gator, what size is the stocker and what is a vs? Share the stock tire size and we can get this ball rolling.

Re: VS800 Intruder
The stock tire is a 140-90-15. I've seen some posts by vs800 that he thought a 165-80-15 would fit this bike. But that was about a yr ago and no follow ups. The bike's a Suzuki Intruder 800. I know it's a Jap girly bike, but it's my first one, and I can ride the piss out of it and not worry about much.

Nothing girly about it brother, I just didn't know what the vs stood for. The 165-80 will fit right in there.

Right on! Gonna order the Kumho 758. Not many choices for 165-80-15. I'll make sure to document the process. Thanks!

Re: VS800 Intruder
Thanks for the encouragement!! I just got the tire and wanted to do some performance comparisons. For braking performance, should I do 60 - 0 with just breaks? or downshift as well? I will also do some contact patch measuring, going straight and cornering.
Also, since the weather is just about perfect here in FL, and there are two big bike events in the next 2 weeks (Sanford bike rally & Biketoberfest), could/should I go w/tube for now and convert to tubeless after I have my fill of bikes & babes??? (just worried about having enough time to work on wheel before then)

Re: VS800 Intruder
From everything I've heard a motorcycle tube works just fine in that tire. If it was me I would probably mount it that way to begin with and then when I found out I really liked it I would probably look for a cast wheel for the next change. But that is just me.

Finding a cast wheel for that bike is real hard to do as the only one that will fit is one off of an old '86 intruder. I believe it was the '86 and maybe the '87 that came out with cast wheels. They can be found on ebay every once in awhile or you can do like I did and wait and buy from an individual that has the cast wheel and wants the spoke wheels.

Re: VS800 Intruder
Just got the ct mounted today. I will create a post with specific comparisons later. But it seems the ct is the same in width and about 1" taller then the mt. It took about 95 psi to get the beads to seat. (note - take the tire to a shop that does big rig tires and tell them that they might be too afraid to pressurize an itty bitty motorcycle tire....They might bet you $$ that they wouldn't even flinch.)
I took it around the block and couldn't tell any difference as of yet. I'll be in Daytona all weekend for Biketoberfest. So hopefully after that, I'll be able to complete my performance testing.
btw - I decided to keep the tube and maybe go to tubeless a little later. Thanks for all the help!!!!
