I made the leap today
Well, after two years of silent contemplation, I finally made the leap to the Darkside today. My '04 1800 is now rockin' a Stone Potenza G019 Grid in a 205/60-16. I only got the chance to put about three miles on it so far, but what little riding I did on it impressed me. I'll post an update after I get a few more miles under my belt.

Re: I made the leap today
Congrats....Better late than never!
After a couple hundred miles and the mold release is off. Ride it like you stole it. Remember, air pressure makes all the difference in the world to the handling of the car tire to your riding style. Don't be afraid to go down to 30 psi and all points in between to get what you like. Come back and give us a full review?

Re: I made the leap today
Well, I've got about 750 miles on the Potenza now, and I frigging LOVE IT! The first hundred miles or so I felt like I was having to put in just the slightest amount more steering input, but now I have grown to feel like the steering actually feels more solid. I love cornering on it and am dragging floor boards on both sides. Rode a few dozen miles on some gravel over the weekend and loved the way it handled there too.
My only complaint: it's a bit more squirrilly than an MC tire when I'm on shitty, uneven pavement at low speeds, I imagine because if I'm on something uneven it's kind of rocking over it a bit. I guess it's not necessarily a complaint, just an observation.
Been running it at 40 psi, may try some pressure adjustments after I get home from this business trip.

Re: I made the leap today
I've noticed the tire will always want to run on the high side of uneven pavements. Didn't take much getting used to.
