Darkside Expertise Needed
Bike in question is a 2004 VTX 1300 C. As a member of the Patriot Guard she rides many miles by herself in all weather conditions. Bike is usually loaded for traveling.
Is there a tire made, run flat, for this bike for a solo rider with baggage for distance. I don't believe she is very aggressive in curves. We do alot of Missions with the PGR at slow speeds.
If there isn't a run flat available, all information on a tire would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance for any and all information.
Remember to air your tires and ride.

Re: Darkside Expertise Needed
Dont know anything about runflats but any good 205/70/15 will do a good job for her. Some say a new person can start with a 165/80/15 as it feels just like a mt. I like the stability of the extra width. It takes about 500 miles to get comfortable with a ct but after that you hardly notice it.

Re: Darkside Expertise Needed
I went here and looked at the reccommended 205/70/R15 tires and the run flat is not avaible in that size of tire.
Personnally i would not put a run flat on anything let alone a bike. If I loose the seat or the air in the rear tire i want to know it then not 50 or 100 miles down the raod when the tire seperates compleatly.

Re: Darkside Expertise Needed
I know some Goldwing riders use run flats, but that is a 16 inch wheel. I don't think anybody
makes a run flat in a 15 inch size, if they did, the sidewalls would be so stiff I don't think it would ride right anyway.

Stay away from the "run flats"! Any performance tire will do you just fine!
