2001 vt1100 shadow spirit only

I just wanted to see how many of you notice much more vibration at 80 mph than say 65. I have talked to a few who have newer models and there's no difference for them, just smooth. thanks!

no difference here! just have to hang on a bit tighter

I realized it is totally rev related, as in each gear before i change it has the same amount of vibration. In second gear for example, at about 35-40.

my speedo doesn't work. So. . . .

Problem solved: regulator/rectifier. unintended consequences. Because my voltage reading when bike was reved at idle was low, 12.8, and stator checked out ok, replaced r/r. voltage up as well as vibration at higher rpm lessened. Yeah!

Next week is my last in FL. BUT, I'll be here the weekend of 2/27-28. Wonder if Eric and you and I could get together and Ride. I'd consider renting a bike down here if you guys wanted to ride for a day. Weather may dictate what day we ride, but riding south towards Eric will probably be a safe bet.

Has spring training started in FL?

And Maurice, if you want that chrome accent for your tank, I'll bring it next time I come.

Sounds good Steve. Why don't you pm Eric and see if that weekend, Sat. or Sunday works for him and we could meet him half way.
I will pass on the Chrome accent Steve but thanks anyway.
p.s. just got my bigger, 22 inch windshield today as I couldn't take the hitting my on the top of the head shorter windshield. Only if i had no helmet was it ok, but who wants to go 70 or 80 with no helmet.

I'll take care of the route. I figure we'll meet in Ormond Beach and head west. I'll PM y'all a rout map when I figure it out. I figure we'll each be coming about 75 miles each to the meet point. We can have lunch and then take off, ride probably 100-150 miles or so. I'll be in touch.

Can't find a bike in Jacksonville! Daytona is this week and next. All the bikes have been reserved for months.

No. Wow, of all things to overlook. If you were here in Central Florida I could probably get you a ride.

I will try calling the local shop that put my R/R on recently. He's around lots of bikes, races etc. nice guy too.

Got a couple of leads working. Local mechanic asked what is going rate for bike rental. Said no idea. He is checking a source or 2 and will call back. will post back

I'm actually looking at craigslist in Jacksonville for a $1500 bike. If I found a running kawa 900, or another bike I like I might just buy it and ride it back! But really looking for someone willing to rent it for $200 for the weekend...... Never know.

If you find one, let me know. I'm going to send a couple of emails out to bikes on craigslist to see if they are willing to rent their bike for the weekend......$150 is what I'm willing to spend. That's what renting a Harley would have been.

My brother has a Suzuki Intruder 800 that he does not use regularly. I have an email into him to see if he will loan/rent it for a day. Will see.
