Add me to the list
NeonLeon went Darkside! Finally!!!!
Thanks to everyone that helped me through this. Twin, Jerry, Moon, Kermit, Phantom1 ... I bugged the chit out of everybody! The tire seems to fit great. I can't ride cause it's raining, but bouncing on the seat it cleared everything. I can't wait to try it out tomorrow.
I went with the GoodYear Assurance Triple Tread in a 205-70-15. The taller tire should help take some of the speedo error out.
Do I get the secret decoder ring now???

Welcome to the Darkside,
Don't tell anyone about the secret decoder ring, otherwise it won't be a secret.

Re: Add me to the list
Welcome, Great choice in tire, I think my V2k is much better because of it, handles great, rides great and has the load capacity that should have been on my Vulcan from the start. Enjoy and continue to post your experiences.

Re: Add me to the list
Got my first ride ... only about 15 miles so here's what I think. This is a great tire! It really grabs the road and rides smooooooooth. With the 205-70-15 I feel like I'm sitting a lot higher, but I also put on a Mustang seat so it could be a combo. Do any of you notice that you counter steer more? I really shoved her down, but when I cracked the throttle coming out she stood right up and jumped. I'm a believer and I thank all of you very much for your help and support. I also went with Dyna Beads front and back. It's like riding a new bike. I started out with 40 pounds and dropped it to 38. It seems pretty good right now. What pressures are you guys running?
Thanks again and God bless,
Len

Re: Add me to the list
I was at 41 on my douglas but i noticed it wearing in the middle of the tire. after 22,000 miles. so I dropped down to 35 and might try 32 tomorrow.......you just have to play with it and see. try going down in 4 lb increments then dial it in from there...

Len,
Yes, it does require more countersteer, but makes you feel like you really riding the bike to me. One thing that I don't do anymore since going to the car tire 4 yrs. ago is turn too tight and have to over correct. I did that all the time with the motorcycle tire. Other than that....it's all that and a bag of chips! I feel a ton safer on the car tire than any motorcycle tire I ever tried.

Re: Add me to the list
I feel that with the CT it does require a little more input. I like it tho. Like Twin said. Just play with pressures some more till you find out what feels the best for you. You did not make a bad decision by going dark. It seems that more and more people are figuring it out. It is even more acceptable on the other boards these days. Just goes to show ya that we are not alone. Thanks guys before me for stepping out and going against the grain. I am glad I did it for sure.
