Re: CT for wifes VT 600?
I made it on, at my bro's tonight, on his laptop, traveled from rock hill sc to mullins sc for mom's 77th birthday. it is getting harder for me to get on line at work , new work software, entire office shuffle, my new desk is right outside of the vp's door, he can see my monitor from his desk,,so any during the day time for me will be seriously down, and i have no online svc at home(cutting costs
sure you can put a car tire on t,he vlx, i have a federal ss657, 165/80/15, with nearly 4k miles now,, if i were your i'd start her off on the same size, the kumho (sp?) is prob. the better tire. I had 35k miles on this bike on the m/c tire before coming over, so i was hyper aware of any differences. Really has been a great change for me. I think another guy on here put a 195/--/15 on his vlx, he noted that may be the widest that will fit without any mods to the swing arm. I am planning to go to a 185/65/15 if the federal ever wears out. I lack only 200 miles from having 4k on it now and it shows no wear on the tread at all.
the more knowledgeable guys on here will tell you that the 165/80/15 will handle as close to the m/c tire as any. I have it from them that this tire is about 2 pounds lighter than the stock tire, and about 2mm thinner.
I think she will be very satisfied with the c/t.
