Re: Responce from Cruiser Magazine
I think that we should invite the mag to go for a ride ... and see how a group of darksiders handle touring around the country. Maybe east coast - west coast , and we can rotate bikes in along the way . That would give them a better feel for bike and riders .

Re: Responce from Cruiser Magazine
This is a good point. Besides safety (contact patch), miles per tire is a huge advantage to me. I can go to Alaska and back without changing tires. If you look at a cruiser with MC tires, after a lot of miles, they look a heck of a lot like CTs. Very flat on the bottom, with lots of sidwall tread left.
I'm going on a ride in AR with some high school buddies this June. One of my friends has a 1999 VT1100c. I have a 2004. He has a mc tire. I have a ct. That would be an apples to apples comparison. maybe he can meet us in Eureka springs and go for a short ride on each, back to back....
I'm really not out to change anyone's mind. I couldn't care less if YOU have a ct or a mc. But I do care about facts. Facts are facts and opinions are just that. A half million miles without a ct related incident is a fact. And anyone that says we don't ride needs to follow Kermit for a few miles in AR.

Due to liability issues we won't be doing a comparison test, currently there's not a single tire or mainstream motorcycle manufacturer in the world that thinks using a car tire on a motorcycle is a good idea so if we knowingly installed a non-approved tire on a test bike, and then wadded the thing up the legal repercussions would be a nightmare.
.....
This is exactly what has bothered me about the tire companies and magazines and Naysayers..... No one is even willing to attempt to test/prove it Won't work let alone that it WILL and Does work.....
and time on a test track is not a fair test.....

I would have to imagine that he doesn't buy his tires for the bike he rides either.... I went to the darkside for economics.... It cost me over $1000 in just tires alone plus the cost to install them... one car tire very 3 to 4 years will suit me just fine.... I can buy alot of gasoline for $1400....

Did I read this right? They are gonna pay our bills if we ride a MT?
Well that is ok. I will pay my own bills and ride the tire I like.

I think Larry was just saying that he's going to do what's right for him UNLESS they are willing to pay his bills and rig his bike up the way they want it.

Re: Responce from Cruiser Magazine
I agree, was just playin. Think it is just bull that they can make excuses as to not try the CT. In time it will happen as the car tire population grows. They will have to. Period. That will be a good day for us. It will also put the MT companies in check as well. Politics man. I would not givin it a thought if I had not seen it myself and then found this site. But going against the grain is what I do. Not a rebel but not a conformist either.
