Has anyone tried the Cooper ZEON ZPT 215/45/18 on the 1800F? I am trying to decide between the Toyo and this Cooper.

Any information would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Double check the actual measured width of the tire... there's a really good chance it's too big to fit in the swingarm... I can't remember the actual max width, I'll try to find it... bounce

found it. This is from swsvending on the OA... to my knowledge the first person to DS the 18" rim!

A low profile tire is a low profile tire whether it's a CT or a MC tire. The ride will be a little rougher than a C, but nothing that a quality set of shocks will not fix. The bike handles, corners, tracks just fine and nothing does a burnout like a CT fresh mounted. LOL

To choose this tire I looked at the widest tire that I have seen on a C. The section width on that tire is 8.3 inches and the section width on the Toyo Proxes T 1R is 8.1. Michelin makes a tire with a 8.3 section width but the price was over $300.

So, make sure your Cooper is 8.3" or less... Exclamation

Thanks for the info. Now I have to actually find a tire to measure. I was doing a tire size search online and found the Cooper.

Cooper ZPT - Section Width 8.3, Overall Dia. 25.7, Tread Width 7.99, Tread Depth 10.5
TOYO T1R - Section Width ?, Overall Dia. 25.7, Tread Width 8.1, Tread Depth 10

Not really sure if the tread width on the Toyo is correct, their site says overall width.

Could you measure your tread with and let me know?

But it looks like the Cooper will work.

Let me know your thoughts on this.

Thanks

Overall width and Section width is the same, and what's important for swingarm clearance. Check the "measuring rim width" spec also, it's probably 6.50", so your stock 5.50" wheel will narrow overall tire width. My CT S.W. spec is 8.7", which would never fit inside a stock swingarm, but that's with it mounted on a 6.50" rim, on my stock 5.00" rim it's about 8.1", which just makes it. The general rule is .2" tire width change for every .5" measuring rim width. Good Luck.

Well I have decided to stay inline and get the TOYO. My MT has about 5k on it now and I think that by March, the Metzler will be pretty worn, so I am gathering up the anal oops dynabeads and the tire so I will have everything ready to go. I have also talked a co-worker into going darkside with another co-worker to follow once he gets to ride a bike with a ct on it. Both have 1300c models (2004 and 2007) so he should be able to compare it nicely.

Have a Merry Christmas All
