Death Boat

A coal barge hit this back in the summer at Wilson Dam just outside of Muscle Shoals , Alabama killing ( 4 ) .Two couples was on board when it went down in very deep water at the dam. The company I work for owns Wilson Dam and had to get floating cranes to pull it up so barge traffic and power generating could continue.They have it stored at one of our storage yards waiting on the insurance company to remove.

This photo shows where it was hit. Thats my truck in the back ground. This place has over 35 huge buildings built in the 40's and 50's they soon will all be gone to make room for the Nuclear material that will be store here. Plans are we will build 2 new nuclear power plants and finish 2 that have been moth balled for over 20 years.

I'd say she went down fast

Tragic accident for sure .... I know there is no such thing as an accident, or so the safety gurus say. But none the less.

Good news about the new plants. we need all the non coal generation we can get.
